NWA 11288 Mars Meteorite

This Martian rock was purchased by Marc Jost Agadir from Aziz Habibi in January, 2015. There is a low weathering grade by very high shock value which is common amongst most Martian meteorites. This is due to the incredible power of the impact that launched it from its planet of origin. This meteorite has a greenish gray heterogenous appearance and consists of dominant calcic pyroxene which occurs has as long 2-3mm crystals. A rarety of this stone is the presence of “vugs” or cavities within the rock matrix which may have held Martian atmosphere at one point.
